Artist Statement
Transitions is a series of figurative paintings made over several years, during periods of personal evolution. Subjects include self-portraits, friends, and strangers, each captured in a different chapter of life. Most were painted while living in Austin, with others created during a master's program in Venice, Italy through NYU.
The series captures both internal and external shifts, moments of clarity, uncertainty, solitude, and connection. It examines a changing sense of self and the emotional texture of transition.
